Completed Something!

Though the holidays are sending me running all over the place, I managed to finish a short story I had been working on. The tentative title is "At the Turning of the Age", although I'm not sure I'm totally sold on that yet. I am, however, really jazzed about the way the story came out. It's Slipstream/Interstitial, I guess. It involves Fey and primitive humans, and is set in a jungle much like the Amazon. I've gotten good responses so far, and I'm feeling positive about the prospects of it getting published. I'll have to give it a little longer and go over it one last time, but then...then, it'll be going out to the big Sci-Fi/Fantasy mags. Wish me luck.

In other news, I've done some more work over at Wolf Steel, getting comments pages set up for all the stories. I also have a "Links" area set up. I've only got a few links up thus far, but my evil schemes are on a grander scale than what you see at this moment. My web entity will grow ever greater and more terrible! (Whew, I almost launched into a megalomaniacal rant there...)

You may notice a cosmetic change in the blog/blogs, as well. I reared up on my hind legs and decided to try Blogger Beta, and so now I'm using their new tools and formatting. Also, notice that I've linked my Wolf Steel "Links" page, so just click there, and it'll be your one stop shopping spot for my various links. If you think I should put your page in there, and it isn't listed yet, or if you'd rather not be associated with such a nefarious character as myself, please contact me in some way. Your inclusion on my links is a vote "Yes" for coolness, while your possible omission is only an oversight on my part, and shouldn't be taken personally.

I'm working on another short story (among other things), and I have a plan for writing and submitting several shorts in the coming year. If Kelly is out there, yes, I'm going to get back to King Snake soon. I'm thinking that I'll need to do a freshening of Perishable Goods, my story about vampires, so I can pitch it in earnest at the Con I'm going to in February. That'll take some time. I think the beginning and the end both need some work, although I'm fairly happy with the parts in between. We shall see. If the efforts I've been making to clone myself several times pan out, I'll be right back on schedule.

Hope the holidays are treating you well, my friends. I will report in again soon.

Best of luck with publishing "At the Turning of the Age." I'm sure you won't have any problems with your great writing skills :-)

You sound really busy, and it is so good to see those who take the craft seriously.

Hope you have a nice holiday and again best wishes on publishing. Here is publishing power to you :-)

Kelly,

I think I might need cyber-nagging. I've been worthless lately. The holidays ate my muse...

m. shahin,

I have high hopes for the story. As soon as the holidays stop killing my brain, maybe I'll be able to get something going.

Thanks for coming over and making comments. It's a little lonely over here so far. I wonder what I need to do to drum up more business...naughty stories?
