The Descent Into Madness!

Call me crazy. It’s true. I am crazy. Here’s why:

I’ve decided to write a novella—by the end of the month. Yep. I’ve really slipped a cog this time. I found an open call for manuscripts between 20 and 30 thousand words, and it looked interesting. The only catch was that the stories were due on August 1st. Yes, that August 1st. I started writing two days ago, and I’m about one-fifth of the way done, with around 5,500 words.

I do, for those of you interested, have a solid outline. Not quite a “snowflake method”, but a good cast of characters, logline, one paragraph, and three act structure. The working title of the novella is “Dayhunter”. I feel confident that I can finish, so long as I don’t hit a huge plotting snag or fall ill. Also, I hope no pianos fall on me, but that’s probably a separate issue…

Anyway, I’m going to be a busy dude, so don’t worry if I don’t post much this month.

Wish me luck!

Good Luck! You'll make the deadline and as usual, it will be spectacular!

Frann,

I sure hope so. I think the story's going well, so I have high hopes. Thanks for coming over.
