Okay, so it's just the rough draft of the first act, but I'll take the "win" if I can get it. The word count is up to 9,500 now, so that's a solid 1/3 of the way through. I'm pleased with the way it's coming out. I'm going to have my "alpha reader" look through it tonight and see if it works.
I'm hoping to get the second act done in the coming week, then the third by the 21st ro the 22nd. That'll give me about a week to furiously edit the novella. I don't know if that'll be enough, but as my friend Paul has often said, "Pressure makes diamonds."

It was my motto in school. I'd generally start on papers at about 3:30 the morning they were due. That skill, it appears, hasn't left me.
